An Evening of Purpose for Young Athletes (6/6/07)
On Tuesday, June 5, 2007, The Satori Athletic Organization hosted a fundraising reception at the South Orange Performing Arts Center. The event, “An Evening of Purpose for Young Athletes” was slated to raise funds to provide support services for student athletes and their guardians in the Greater Newark Metropolitan area.
Essex County Coach of the Year, Felicia Oliver of University High, School of the Humanities and 2007 Eastern Region Most Outstanding Player, Matee Ajavon of the Rutgers University Women’s Basketball Team were honored at the event which was attended by a number of Representatives from both the city of Newark and its surrounding Colleges and Universities.
The evening also featured entertainment by the Greater Grace Fellowship Choir of Newark and artwork featuring high school athletes throughout the State donated by AllProPix Photography.
